What is the best age to photograph my child?
Each age has its own unique qualities. From an infant's beautiful skin folds to a toddler's zany unpredictability; from a six year old's curiosity to a teenager's coming of age, a portrait will capture lasting memories of a precious time in your child's life.
Do you also photograph adults?
Adult portraits make wonderful gifts for family and friends and can also be used for business applications.
Do you photograph pregnant women?
Capturing the female form in one of its most beautiful states is often requested by women in their seventh to ninth month. Partners are welcome to take part in the sitting as well.
What are your hours for booking sittings?
Sittings are pre-arranged by appointment, Tuesday through Saturday either for a morning or afternoon session. Depending on availability, it is best to book about 3 weeks ahead.
How long does a sitting last?
Most sittings are about one hour long but this may vary. About 50 shots are taken.
What should we wear?
You or your child should feel comfortable. We would be happy to talk to you about your choice of clothing or bring along a few selections if you are unsure.
Can I watch my child being photographed?
Parents are often invited to watch the sitting unfold. With older children, it's preferable to wait in the gallery area.
When will I receive the portrait(s) once the sitting is done?
Although instant Polaroids are taken and reviewed during the sitting, turnaround time is 1 week for proofs and 3-4 weeks for portraits. Requests for speedier turnaround will be considered if possible.
Can I take the proofs home to decide?
In most cases, no. You should come into the Studio prepared to make your selection at the time of the preview appointment.
Can I purchase the proof sheets?
Yes, proof sheets are available for purchase at a nominal charge.
Can I view the proofs online?
Yes, when it is not possible to visit the studio in person to make a
selection, proof sheets can be posted online for several days.
Do you do framing also?
A wide selection of both metal and wood frames is available to choose from.
Are gift certificates available?
Gift certificates can be purchased for any amount towards a sitting and/or prints.
Can a sitting be rescheduled if necessary?
While valuable studio time is set aside for your sitting, we request that you honour your appointment except in the event of illness. If a booked sitting is cancelled, a 50% non-refundable deposit will be applied.
What are the terms of payment?
Sitting fees are due at the time of the sitting. Portraits are payable in full upon receipt of the finished work. Deposits are required for orders over $1000.00. Visa is accepted but personal cheque is preferred. Applicable taxes are not included in fees, deposits, gift certificates and portraits
