Old Labrador Retriever, (2010)
Many of the portraits shown in this portfolio were taken in my studio in Toronto from the mid 1990s until the mid-2000s- a productive and creative period which saw many changes in photography with the switchover to digital from film. The rest of the portraits shown here were shot on location at various spots over the last 15 years. All my black and white studio portrait work was shot on film and printed archivally in the studio darkroom. The later years work was shot digitally.
I have always prided myself on the originality, sensitivity and authenticity of my work. The human face, the human spirit and human emotion predominate in my portraits. They are timeless qualities and all tell a personal story.
